Security leads other issues in Persian Gulf

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei Tuesday morning in a meeting with Sultan Qaboos, king of Oman and his entourage described Iran-Oman relations in the past thirty years as good and brotherly, adding that considering deep religious, geographical and historical bonds between the two countries, there are a vast ground for bilateral cooperation.
Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the existence of one of the most sensitive waterways in the world between Iran and Oman, adding that security leads other issues in Persian Gulf.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the United States and some other interventionist states have always impeded tranquility in the sensitive Persian Gulf by infusing insecurity and mistrust in the area.
The IR Leader urged the Persian Gulf littoral states to cooperate with each other to ensure security in the area more than before.
In the meeting also attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Sultan Qaboos expressed deep pleasure over his visit to Iran and his meeting with the IR Leader, adding that the grounds for expansion of relations between the two countries were ample. He said his talks in Tehran focused namely on the expansion of ties in economic fields.
The King reaffirmed IR Leader's remarks about the significance of security in the region and urged the regional countries to provide grounds for stable security by taking into account common regional interests in the area expansion of cooperation in this regard.
