The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said
on Sunday that political and cultural officials, as well as journalists
and online media should not publish news articles which would induce
lack of tranquility in the society.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with Interior Minister Mostafa Mohammad-Najjar and a group of commanders and officials of the Law Enforcement Forces.
The IR Leader noted that procurement of security, particularly moral and psychological security in the society is one of the most important responsibilities of the media, press, groups and individuals.
Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized that under the present conditions the country is quite calm and people also have good morale so the media or newspapers should not act in a way as to imply lack of tranquility within the society.
'The incumbent tranquility in the society and the awareness of people about their ideals is only due to the benevolence of the Almighty God,' he added.
The Leader said that our writings and statements should not be in such a way as to imply any differences.
"Even if we have difference of opinion, it should not be used as a pretext by certain foreign media," yatollah Khamenei added.
Elsewhere in his speech, Ayatollah Khamenei expressed gratitude for the efforts of the IRI Law Enforcement Forces, and said one of the most important duties of the security forces was creating psychological and moral security in society.
In the meeting Chief of Law Enforcement Forces Esmail Ahmadi-Moqaddam presented a report about the activities of the security forces.
