Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution met Friday evening with the parliament Speaker of Algeria Abdul Qadir bin Saleh. Speaking at the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei praised the record of the Algerian people in revolutionary and anti-colonialist activities, saying: "Since the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the Algerian government has always been a good partner for Iran and it has always been in the camp of resistance."
His Eminence stressed that Algeria can play a significant role in the Non-Aligned Movement and reiterated: "There are numerous capacities for expansion of economic, political and cultural relations between Iran and Algeria and it is necessary to make use of these capacities."
In the meeting, Abdul Qadir bin Saleh said that the presence of heads of different states in the Tehran summit is very important and significant in current conditions, further stating: "Algeria also wants to expand its ties with Iran and it is necessary to take action in this regard by establishing joint commissions."
