The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has said Iran’s policy in relation to neighbouring countries is a policy of friendship and cooperation.
Speaking on Thursday afternoon in a meeting with the president of Turkmenistan, Qurban Quly BerdiMohammadov, the Leader emphasized that Iran’s policy in relation to neighbouring countries is a policy of friendship and cooperation.
In further remarks, The Leader welcomed expansion of relations and cooperation between the Islamic republic of Iran and Turkmenistan, adding that the considerable resources and potentials of both countries means there is plenty of scope for expansion of ties and cooperation between the two nations.
Turning to the progress made by Turkmenistan in recent years, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei expressed satisfaction with Turkmenistan’s progress, and said common interests on a whole range of issues, among them the Caspian Sea, can lead to further development of ties between Tehran and Eshghabad.
For his part, the president of Turkmenistan, Qurban Quly BerdiMohammadov stressed that Turkmenistan is keen to expand its relations with neighbouring Islamic republic of Iran.
He described the summit in Tehran as very important, and said without a doubt, this summit will have a positive effect on progress of non-aligned movement countries.
