Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei on Sunday afternoon received Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his entourage.
"The relation between Iran and Sri Lanka has been deep rooted but it should be expanded to the best level because there are many fields for expansion of cooperation between the two countries," Ayatollah Khamenei added.
Islamic Revolution Leader pointed to the Sri Lanka's success in solving its internal difficulties and lauded the attitude of the country in support to the Palestinian nation.
"The oppressed Palestinian nation tolerate atrocity from all sides and their killer enemy, Israel with the support of America uses all capabilities to violate the Palestinians' rights," Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated.
Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that all of the persons who have a responsibility in their country should play a vital role in support to the oppressed Palestinian people.
Ayatollah Khamenei expressed hope that Sri Lankan President's visit to Tehran pave the way for expansion of all out ties between the two countries in all fields.
