The Office of the Supreme Leader

Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei :

Elite must adopt a clear stance toward enemy

The most important characteristic of Iran' Islamic Revolution and its anniversaries in the past 30 years is the mass, united presence of people and their interest in the essential slogans of the Revolution, Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei said on Tuesday.

The IR Leader made the remarks after receiving the officials of Islamic Propaganda Coordinating Council as well as organizers of the committees for the celebration of the anniversary of Islamic Revolution.

Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to the current political situation in the country and said in time of sedition and ambiguity, the duty of everybody especially the privileged people is to adopt a transparent stance and avoid two-sided remarks.

The Islamic Revolution Leader called the Fajr Ten Day (Feb 1-11), the ten days before the triumph of the Islamic Revolution, as a unique phenomenon. "The reason for the uniqueness of Fajr Ten Day is that in the past 30 years, the anniversaries of the Islamic Revolution have always been accompanied with the mass presence of people who are the main element of the Revolution," the IR Leader said

Ayatollah Khamenei regarded the presence of millions of people in Bahman 22nd (February 11th) of every year as a sign that the Revolution was relying on people's faiths.

"The meaning of this annual mass and integrated presence is that the Islamic Revolution and the system originating from it depend on people and their faith. This is also the main reason for the enemies' failure in destabilizing the Islamic system," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the opponents of the Islamic System are in fear about the pure and popular presence of people with different tendencies and tastes in different occasions of the Revolution especially the Fajr ceremonies.

"In order to suppress this integrity and unity, the enemies through their elements try to give the impression that the integrity is suffering a split," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

"To that effect, on Qods Day which is related to opposition to the Zionist regime, a small and deceived group of people chanted slogans against the Palestinian issue and in favor of the Zionist regime and on Aban 13th (November 4th) which is the day of Iranian people's renunciation of the American arrogance, they chanted slogans against the stance, the Islamic system and Islamism," IRI Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the Iranian people are interested in the essential slogans of the Islamic Revolution and that the grandeur of the Iranian people was related to their massive presence in the scene.

Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the Islamic System will continue its dignified track through the same popular motivation until it ably overcomes all enemies.
Ayatollah Khamenei called the Islamic Revolution a reality with divine origin, adding that as long as the system relies on the people's faith and interest, the world powers could not deal a blow to the revolution and people even if they get united.

The IR Leader said the February 11, the day of revolutionary triumph, belonged to all the Iranian people, the revered Imam Khomeini and the martyrs, adding that the  enemy was trying to destabilize the large national wealth of unity and that to foil the plot, all people must keep the scene and move with prudence.

Ayatollah Khamenei spoke of the ability to recognize the right moments and tactfulness as important features that all Iranians should be bestowed with.

The IR Leader recounted a story from the time after the historical Ashura Uprising and said those who fought in support of Imam Hussein few months after his martyrdom didn't recognize the right moment and lacked tactfulness as a genuinely tactful decision was to join Imam Hussein right in the uprising.

The Leader of Islamic Revolution added that the nationwide December 30 rallies, in support of the System, were one of those moments that people made the best of it.

Ayatollah Khamenei acknowledged Islamic Propaganda Coordinating Council's efforts in organizing the rallies and said December 30 has become a landmark in the history of the Islamic Revolution.

The Leader of Revolution also spoke of July 14th, 1999 rallies as one of the key moments in the annals of the Islamic Revolution.

"The people's rallies on Bahman 22nd (February 11th, The day celebrating the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran in 1979) every year, despite its magnitude, is something conventional governed by its own rules, but the July 14th, 1999 and December 30th rallies were something beyond the norms," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution emphasized on the need for vivid public stance at the time of political sedition and said, "The enemies have always detested a clear atmosphere, for they find it easy when everything is blurry."

Ayatollah Khamenei added that in the current situation all political movements within the Islamic Administration should state their stance clearly and the elites carry a heavier duty.

The Islamic Revolution Leader rejected the elites' equivocal stances and urged them to take a clear stance in the face of the enemy.

"When a few took advantage of the situation and challenged Islam and the Islamic Republic by the word of mouth and in practice by questioning the (June presidential) election, the elites ought to take up a clear stance," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

The Leader of Islamic Revolution referred to transparency as the touchstone for everyone's actions and spoke of it as the enemy of the enemy.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution stated that enmity towards the Islamic Administration is not something new and an alerted and determined nation will tackle all the problems.

"The younger generation, those who haven't witnessed the Islamic revolution and the related events, are offshoots of the revolution. Comparing with the older generation, they act much better and more wisely," Ayatollah Khamenei said.

Ayatollah Khamenei concluded that despite various plots the tree of revolution is lofty and ever growing.
