Leader of Islamic Revolution referred to IRI-Qatar ties as an example of outstanding relations in the region and said the Persian Gulf region should be a safe, secure, and flourishing area through neighboring countries' cooperation.
Ayatollah Khamenei said there are foreign efforts to prevent the countries in the region from achieving this goal, adding all the regional countries should make efforts to thwart foreigners' plots.
The Leader of Islamic Revolution appreciated the Qatari government's stance against the Zionist regime's 33-day invasion of Lebanon as well as the 22-day attack to the Gaza Strip.
Ayatollah Khamenei pointed out that in the case of Lebanon and the Gaza, it was expected that the Arab states, due to common religious background, took sides with the defenseless Lebanese and Palestinian youths in Gaza, but unfortunately some Arab governments' stance was frustrating.
"More efforts must be made to promote economic relations more than ever," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The leader of Islamic Revolution expressed satisfaction with Tehran-Doha relations and said, "One reason for close relations between the two countries is that all Islamic nations in the region have common enemies."
Ayatollah Khamenei said the enemies were trying to marginalize main issues while rendering trifles as key issues.
Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani in return expressed deep satisfaction of his meeting with the Leader of Islamic Revolution and appreciated Iran's stance regarding Islamic-Arabic issues especially Palestine.
The Emir of Qatar referred to Iran and Qatar's shared viewpoints and urged all the regional states not to yield to foreign pressure.
Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani voiced hope for rapid growth in relations between the two countries, particularly in economic matters.
