Nation indebted to blood of martyrs

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei in a meeting with martyrs' families on Saturday said that glory, honor and progress of the Islamic system is indebted to the blood of martyrs stressing that the Iranian nation is owed to blood of martyrs and the families of martyrs forever.

Marking the anniversary of the liberation of the important and strategic port of Khorramshahr (on Khordad 3rd 1361), Ayatollah Khamenei termed the great event as a result of Islamic faith and affection to Islam, adding that the key factor of continuation of the Islamic system was Islam

Islamic Revolution Leader pointed to the late Imam Khomeini's continued reliance on Islam and said that all Iranian people and officials of the Islamic system should honor Islam and Islamic values because resistance and strength of the Iranian nation was created under the auspices of Islamic faith.

Ayatollah Khamenei added that the enemies of Iran and Iranians are not satisfied with honoring Islam and Islamic values so the officials and presidential candidates should be vigilant and avoid statements which may lead to the enemies' satisfaction.

"Glory of the Iranian nation among the Islamic nations, security, great scientific and technological achievements and increase of scientists, researchers and students in the country have all been achieved under the auspices of blood of martyrs," Ayatollah Khamenei added.

The IR Leader said that the public awareness in Iran is indebted to the blood of martyrs, adding that the blood of martyrs as elixir improved the nation's position.
    
Ayatollah Khamenei urged for appreciation of martyrs and their families and noted that the firm faith and will and sacrifices of these families have strengthened the pillars of the Islamic system so that no storm could endanger the great base.

The IR Leader urged for keeping alive the memory of martyrs and the sacred defense. "Some tried to weaken the memory of martyrs and the sacred defense. If they did it unintentionally it has been a big negligence and if they did it deliberately, it has been treason," he said.
