In a meeting this afternoon with Emomali Rakhmonov the President of Tajikistan, Ayatollah Khamenei the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution referred to the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) as an efficient organization and said that the capacities of the ECO member countries should be utilized in order to strengthen the organization.
His Eminence also referred to the cultural and historical ties between Iran and Tajikistan as valuable opportunities for strengthening the relations between the two countries and reiterated that the Islamic Republic is ready to share its valuable experience in such fields as medicine, aerospace, and different industries with its brother nations in order to contribute to the progress of the region.
In this meeting which was also attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Mr. Rakhmonov sent his nations' warm greetings to the Iranian nation and said: "The countries of the world are now observing the great progress which has been made by the Islamic Republic, and such progress is a source of pride for all Muslims and Persian -speaking people of the world."
The President of Tajikistan also described the relations between the two countries as very strong and expressed hope that his country will complete the joint projects between the two countries with the cooperation of the Islamic Republic.
