The Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei told on Wednesday evening the OIC Secretary General Akmal al-Din Ihsan Uglu that the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) could play an important role in unifying the Islamic countries and making them close more.
Referring to the efforts made by the enemies to misuse ethnic, religious and political issues to sow discord among Muslims the IR Leader added The OIC should try to remove grounds of difference among Muslims.
Talking about the great tragedy of the Gaza Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated that it was expected that the Islamic countries adopt a strong and single status adding that during the 22-day Gaza war nations did their best but certain governments did not adopt appropriate stands.
"Now it is expected that the Islamic countries adopt a single and logical stands toward the Gaza Strip's reconstruction," the IR Leader added.
Ayatollah Khamenei urged the OIC to make proper planning for upgrading cooperation among Muslim countries in various fields and announced the Islamic Republic of Iran's readiness for cooperation in this regard.
The OIC Secretary General for his part said the Organization is seriously seeking international legal action against the Zionist war criminals.
