Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei told visiting Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri on Wednesday evening that Lebanon had changed into the heart of the Middle East region.

Referring to the current situation in the region after the two important victories of the Resistance Movements in Gaza and Lebanon, the IR Leader called the victory of the Gazans in the 22-day war against the Zionist regime a result of the Islamic Resistance Movement's victory in 33-day war in Lebanon.

"Imposition of pressures on Lebanon is a sign of its significant status in the region," the IR Leader said adding the current regional equation indicated that the efforts made by American, Zionist regime and their supporters were doomed to failure.

"We would be able to overcome the enemies' soft and hard conspiracies through relying on God and with unity and foresight," IR Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei warned that despite a change of approaches in the White House, the same goals were still pursued by Washington as before.

For his part, the Lebanese official delivered a report over Lebanon's developments and said the current situation in the region had been affected by the 33-day war in Lebanon and the 22-day war in the Gaza.

"After the defeat of the Zionist regime in the military field, the battle was shifted to the diplomatic field," he added.

"By hindering the Gaza reconstruction, America and the Zionist regime are trying to make people pessimistic about the legal government of Palestine," he said adding, "But they never gain the goal."

Meanwhile, IRI Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani was present in the meeting.
