IRI capabilities in service of Turkmenistan

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei in a meeting with Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov and his entourage on Saturday pointed to joint historical and cultural commonalities of Iran and Turkmenistan and said that the two countries could have joint cooperation in different arenas.

Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the scientific, industrial, technical and cultural capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding," IRI's capabilities could meet many needs of Turkmenistan. The cooperation is in the interest of the two countries."

The IR Leader noted that efforts to boost relations between Iran and Turkmenistan should be accelerated, adding that mutual contracts should be formulated in a way that both countrie are assured.

Turkmenistan's President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov for his part congratulated the 30th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution and termed his talks with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as useful.

"In Tehran's negotiations, many proposals in different fields were offered and we hope these proposals would be materialized soon," he added.

Berdymukhamedov said that Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway was an important mutual project taken by the two countries, adding," Turkmenistan is eager to boost cooperation with its friend and neighboring country, the Islamic Republic of Iran."
