Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei Wednesday described Imam Ali (A.S.) as an exceptional man who could be relied as a pivot of unity by Muslims of different sects.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with people on the occasion of 13th of Rajab, the auspicious birth anniversary of the first Shii Imam.
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution felicitated all Muslims on the birth anniversary of the Imam and regarded him as belonging to all Muslims.
"At time when enemies have an agenda to create disagreement among Muslims, Imam Ali whose excellent position is acknowledged by all Islamic sects, either Shii or Sunni, can be the symbol of unity and conformity".
"Imam Ali's mostly pursued motto was justice. We too as followers of him should consider justice as our first priority in the Islamic system," the IR Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei also urged the audience to seize the opportunity of the holy months of Rajab, Shaaban and Ramadan to pray and strengthen their ties with the Almighty God.
Ayatollah Khamenei then appreciated the unique interest of people especially the youth in the spiritual ceremonies of Etekaf in which worshippers take residence in mosques for three consecutive days to pray God.
"These days should be valued and those in charge of holding the Etekaf ceremonies should pprovide the grounds so that no peripheral issue could impede individuals from their spiritual seclusion," the IR Leader said
Ayatollah Khamenei recommended the public and especially the youth to make use of the invaluable teachings of Sahifa Sajjadiya in these days.
"The month of Rajab is the month of supplication to God and boosting ties with Imam Ali."
Ayatollah Khamenei in another part of his speech said that the Iranian nation had become subject to different pressures because it had stayed the course of Islam and kept its independence. The IR Leader urged the nation to boost its resolve.
Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the arrogance always tries to dominate the world by scaring off other nations from the field.
"The artifice only works against those governments which lack the support of their nations but not to a government which is backed by vote, affection and faith of its people," Ayatollah Khamenei noted.
"As of the date the Islamic Revolution was triumphed, America tried to push the Islamic Republic and its authorities aside by intimidation but it failed because the Islamic System relied on vote, affection and faith of people. It would continue to fail either," the IR Leader said.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that the Iranian nation had made a great accomplishment by attaining nuclear technology, adding that the nation was not indebted to any other one in this regard as the expertise grew in home by the diligence of Iranian youths and planning of Iranian authorities.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the nuclear achievement belonged to the whole Iranian nation and that no power could wrest the great technology from the nation.
Ayatollah Khamenei noted however that the Iranian nation would distinguish between those, the US among others, who put hurdle in the path of the nation and those who respect the rights and red lines of the nation regarding the nuclear technology issue and call for negotiations to resolve issues of contention.
The Islamic Revolution Leader then touched on the IRI's agreement to hold talks with the European Union, saying that the talk would prove fruitful provided it is not gripped by threats.
"The Europeans must mind that the party before them on the negotiation table is the Iranian nation which never entertains blackmail and would not buckle under any threat," Ayatollah Khamenei added.
Ayatollah Khamenei moreover added that the IRI's Supreme National Security Council, headed by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was the only body assigned to tackle the national nuclear issue and that all the national authorities have consensus over what the President and other relevant authorities state in this regard.
Ayatollah Khamenei noted that the stance and red lines of the Iranian nation had been clearly stated, adding that the IRI authorities would enter talk with the negotiating sides provided they followed the clear-cut framework and that no blackmail was in place.
Concerning the new threats of America and Zionist regime against the IRI, Ayatollah Khamenei noted that it was up to them to cover up a deluge of problems they face in home by making those threats, but they must mind that if they commit a folly in practice, the Iranian nation would cut off the hand of aggressors.
"If any one dares commit a folly against the Islamic Republic of Iran, the IRI's response will be tooth-crushing," Ayatollah Khamenei cautioned.
"The idea that the US president might take some move within the final months of his tenure, leaving the trouble for the next administration to handle is a mistake because if any one takes any move, the Iranian nation would prosecute and punish him even if he is no longer in office," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
"It does not make difference for the Iranian nation whether the aggressive hand belongs to someone in office or to someone out of office," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
The Islamic Revolution Leader also said the Iranian nation never abandons hope in the Divine Assistance even for a moment, adding that the determined nation had a bright prospect.
