The Office of the Supreme Leader

Arrogance club has climbed down

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali khamenei told a visiting Eritrean President Tuesday that the global relations have changed with the arrogant club having climbed down from its position.

"Nowadays conditions of the world have changed compared to twenty years ago as America and other domineering countries have had to back down in the face of self-assured nations and heads of some governments,"

The Islamic Revolution Leader denounced the dichotomy of docile-domineering in the international relations as irrational and unfair, adding that the Asian, African and Latin American countries could modify the current international relations through expansion of bilateral or multi-lateral ties.

Ayatollah Khamenei said the nations and governments at present need to boost self-assurance in their inner side, adding that America and Israel run against proximity between independent countries and for the same reason they had already played a key part in inciting tragic conflict in Africa.

Ayatollah Khamenei praised Eritrean people for their historical struggle against arrogance and said that the Iranian people always keep solidarity with them.

"Iran looks up to the African countries," Ayatollah Khamenei affirmed, adding that the IRI was ready to expand mutual relations with African and Asian countries, with neighbors top on agenda.

In the meeting where IRI President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was also present, President Afwerki thanked the Iranian nation for its support to the Eritrean nation.

President Afwerki called the Islamic Revolution a political watershed in freeing regional nations from arrogance.

"Following the revolution, the arrogance lost ground," he said.

The Eritrean President touched on common stance of Iran and Eritrea towards regional and international affairs and called for expansion of ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
