Commander in Chief of the IRI Armed Forces Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei told a joint staff military ceremony in Fars province central Iran Thursday that the Armed Forces have been securing public tranquility as a robust bulwark, urging for the military to enhance its preparations more than ever.
IRI national anthem was played out as the Islamic Revolution Leader arrived in the ceremony ground in the Army's central command in the Fars province. Ayatollah Khamenei then stood in homage before the martyr monument set up in the ground and read out the first sura of the holy Koran as tribute to the souls of those fallen.
The Commander-in-Chief then reviewed a guard of honor conducted jointly by the Army soldiers, IRGC forces, Basij forces and the Police.
He then commiserated with some of the soldiers who had lost their body parts in the sacred defense known as Janbaz (sacrificing soldier) among the Iranian nation.
Ayatollah Khamenei then delivered a speech to the military, saying that Iran took a large boost from the robust defense of the nation and the Armed Forces during the 8 years Sacred Defense.
"The Islamic System even at time when it was enduring an imposed military aggression by Saddam and his supporters, never considered to invade or occupy any other country," Ayatollah Khamenei said, adding that the growing enhancement of the IRI Armed Forc es does not mean the country seeks to monger wars.
"The aggressive policies of the world domineering powers must ring alarm bells for all nations that they must boost their internal structure and acquire necessary preparations," Ayatollah Khamenei alerted.
The Commander-in-Chief described the fiery tirades and threat-game of the arrogance as sheer psy op, adding that the enemies would not dare attack the great Iranian nation.
"Every one has realized that the enemies of the Iranian nation could not dare attack the great Iranian nation because they know they would enter a field which is impossible to leave," Ayatollah Khamenei said, adding however that the Armed Forces must grow more and more powerful irrespective of their inability.
Ayatollah Khamenei then made mention of the invasion of Iraq and Afghanistan by the US aggressors, saying that the occupiers arrived in Iraq carrying message of security and freedom, but the Iraqi people have endured an otherwise situation in the past five years.
"The Iraqi people have endured the worst and most insecure conditions in their life span because the identity of the superpowers is rooted in impiety, occupation and insecurity," Ayatollah Khamenei said, adding that the Islamic System has tracked the pitfall and thereby has adopted its current firm stance towards the superpower.
Ayatollah Khamenei said the US President George Bush's spell in office had been the most insecure part of the contemporary history.
"Bush would leave office in a few months and would transfer the outcomes of his moves to his successor. However, a dark blot is left by him in the history and his dark dossier would remain open for provoking insecurity in the world and inciting terrorism, occupation and criminal conduct," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
Meanwhile, at the end of the ceremony, the elite platoons marched past the stand of the Commander-in-Chief.
