Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei said on Wednesday that the Iranian nation is determined to resist any threat or sanctions.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the remark in an address to thousands of enthusiastic people in Shiraz who had gathered to welcome their aramount Leader on Wednesday.
The Iranian nation will turn all threats imposed by the enemies to opportunities and bring development and pride for the country, said the Supreme Leader.
Ayatollah Khamenei said that pious Iranian nation with reliance on their historical and cultural honors have made the Islamic Revolution victorious in Iran and attained their independence, national dignity, welfare and prosperity.
Any nation should tolerate difficulties to attain its prime goals, and aspirations, underlined the Supreme Leader, citing eight years of sacred defence, fight against terrorism, resistance against threats as well as economic sanctions as parts of hardships tolerated by the Iranian nation on their right path.
The Iranian nation from early stages of the Islamic Revolution faced economic sanctions and embargoes but with reliance on its invaluable power managed to turn all th threats into opportunities and attained independence and self-confidence. Therefore, "I advise you to keep in your mind that this great nation is never afraid of economic sanctions."
The international capitalist system through extensive political propaganda did their best to force Iran to abandon its legitimate rights to benefit from nuclear energy but to no avail, said the Supreme Leader, adding that the pace of Iran's development frightened them to an extent that they exerted more pressure on Iran while ignoring the fact that the Iranian nation will turn all these threats into opportunities for its development.
Foreign media try to bring take advantage of all factors even natural disasters, draught and price hikes which are rampant throughout the world in order to put more pressure on the Iranian nation and officials and therefore it is necessary that people exercise more vigilance, said Ayatollah Khamenei.
The Supreme Leader said that the ongoing economic crisis which has crippled the world has been unprecedented in the past 60 years.
This crisis has forced the UN to declare state of emergency for food shortages around the globe but foreign radios have focused on Iran to imply that the current price hikes and inflation in the country are the results of carelessness on the part of Iranian officials which of course is not true, he said.
Thanks to Almighty God, existing problems in Iran are much less than those in other countries, underlined Ayatollah Khamenei.
"Enemies try to magnify our problems and this will be resolved through a timely and precise economic plan," said the Supreme Leader.
Current problems such as drought requires collective attention of people and officials on the issue, Ayatollah Khamenei reiterated.
