Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei Wednesday emphatically urged the world of Islam to take serious measures towards the Zionist regime's ongoing desecration of the al-Aqsa Mosque.
During a meeting with the Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement early in the day, the IR Leader said that the question of the al-Aqsa mosque was a religious issue shared by all Muslims.
Ayatollah Khamenei underlined a duty on the part of the authorities of the Islamic countries to adopt some response, saying, "the world of Islam must provide such a response to the sacrilegious move that makes the occupying regime of Qods to regret. To keep silence is never allowed."
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution cautioned about a seditious move to transform the Palestinian-Zionist battle to a Palestinian-Palestinian battle and deplored the killings of the Palestinian people from any group whatsoever in such conflicts.
"Everyone, either from the Palestinian groups or from the Islamic countries must try to thwart the enemy's plot so that the flare of the internal conflicts abates swiftly," Ayatollah Khamenei urged.
Ayatollah Khamenei called on the Shiite and Sunni Muslims to cement their unity and preserve their faith and confidence in the Divine assistance and promise.
"The victory of the Lebanese Hezbollah over the Zionist regime, the achievements of Hamas in Palestine and the progressive move of the Islamic Republic of Iran in different domains are among the eminent manifestations of the Divine promise which have helped promote confidence and perseverance in the Muslims," the IR Leader said.
Raising the conspiracy of America and Israel in troubling the situation and inciting differences in the world of Islam, Ayatollah Khamenei said the conspiracy should be defused through vigilance, perseverance and resistance towards enemy's intimidation and temptation.
Ayatollah Khamenei was happy that the Islamic awakening movement had borne invaluable fruits throughout the world and said that the Islamic faith was the key to unity and solidarity of the Muslims. "We must live up to our Islamic obligations and whatever the Islamic awakening demands for," the IR Leader urged.
Ayatollah Khamenei believed that the spirit of perseverance and revolutionary drive has been increasing in the Iranian nation ever since the Islamic revolution year by year, adding that the world will watch the firm resolve and revolutionary drive of the Iranian people in the annual February 11 ceremonies to be staged to commemorate the triumph of the Islamic revolution in Iran in 1979.
Ramadan Abdallah for his part congratulated the 28th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution victory and praised the late Imam Khomeini. The Islamic Jihad SG described the Islamic Republic of Iran as the chief platform of perseverance against the front of unbelievers in the world.
"The Palestinian people and the combatant movements, unlike the pressures and intimidations, will keep allegiance with the martyrs of Intifada to continue their path," Abdallah said.
The Palestinian prominent personality briefed the IR Leader on the latest developments in Palestine. He raised the conspiracy of the enemies of Islam to foment religious conflicts in the Islamic countries, notably in Palestine.
"The Islamic Jihad has summoned all its capabilities to settle the Palestinian infighting," Ramadan Abdallah said. He hoped the conspiracy would soon be thwarted through an agreement between the rival sides.
The Islamic Jihad Secretary General pointed to the woeful internal situation of the Zionist regime, especially following the defeat of the regime at the hand of Hezbollah and said that Israel at present looks more feeble than ever.
"The Palestinian people will not sit silent towards the new plot of the regime to desecrate the al-Aqsa mosque and will hit back at the sacrilege," the Palestinian figure vowed.
