Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei told an Eid ul-Fitr celebratory meeting Tuesday morning that the Eid ul-Fitr day is the day of the Islamic Ummah, adding the only path of dignity and strength of Muslims lies in restoring own identity, relying on God, preserving unity, perseverance and vigilance.
In the meeting, participated by IRI authorities, ambassadors of Islamic countries in Tehran and a crowd of people, the Leader regretted Muslims backwardness in many years doubled by their forced lack of decision and practice about their own interests and their dereliction of duty in this respect, saying, "Today, Muslims has become awakened and realized their identity. We must live up to the awakening and lead it in the right path."
The IR Leader called reliance and trust in God the prominent source of dignity for the Muslims, adding, if God is relied, His assistance will be certain, provided it is translated into action, the Islamic Ummah's interests are heeded and carnal soul and clumsiness are avoided.
Ayatollah Khamenei confirmed that at present, the Palestinian issue is top priority of the world of Islam and the international community, adding the perpetrating hand of the world arrogance, America and Zionism foremost, are apparently involved in every problem of the world of Islam, especially the Palestinian issue.
"Today, for America in the Middle east no interest takes lead over the interests of Zionists and the Zionist regime," Ayatollah Khamenei said.
Ayatollah Khamenei warned of enemy's ploy to sow discord in Palestine, Lebanon and Iraq, saying, "in Palestine, the vigilance taken by the Hamas Administration staved off the plot. The positions of the popular Hamas government in refusing to recognize the Zionist regime and rejecting any talks with the regime are the same as those of the Palestinian people accordingly the Palestinian Authority officials must bow to the demands of the Palestinian people."
The Islamic Revolution Leader outlined the factors behind the victory of the Lebanese people and Hezbollah movement against the Zionist regime as reliance on God, heroic perseverance and resistance, and exhausting all potentialities. "The example can be employed by the overall world of Islam provided the Islamic countries officials put the public interests ahead of their own interests," Ayatollah Khamenei underlined.
Concerning the Iraqi developments, Ayatollah Khamenei said that the reason behind the recent Iraqi unrests is the coming to power of a popular government despite the like of the occupiers.
