Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei in a meeting Tuesday with head of the Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution in Iraq (SCIRI), praised the role of the Hakim family in Iraq and acknowledged their agony under the Saddam Bathist regime and the diligent efforts of the martyr Ayatollah Hakim.
"The Supreme Council of the Islamic Revolution (in Iraq) and Mr. Sayed Abdul-Aziz Hakim have acted in a highly sophisticated and prudent manner in the Iraqi developments during the recent years," Ayatollah Khamenei said, adding that their role benefits the Iraqi people.
Ayatollah Khamenei expressed pleasure with the establishment of a popular government in Iraq and the establishment of the Constitutional instituations, adding that the Divine blessings brought about all the events that stand as a great performance in the Iraqi history.
The Islamic Revolution Leader appreciated the prudent performance of the Marjayiah (religious authority) in Iraq and urged preserving integrity among different sects and religious denominations, adding that the ongoing security problems in Iraq will be resolved only after the occupiers withdraw from the country and the Iraqi government and people run the security situation.
For his part, Abd al-Aziz Hakim praised the Iranian people and authorities over their support to the Iraqi people.
The SCIRI Head then briefed the IR Leader on the latest developments in Iraq, adding that the Iraqi people despite economic and security problems take part in different scenes steadfastly.
"The massive turnout of the Iraqi people in the recent elections proved their high political understanding and demonstrated their resolve to take hold of their political fate," Hakim asserted.
Hakim lauded the relations between different Iraqi sects and denominations and their integrity, adding that despite all problems, Iraq's ten-fold political process to form the constitutional institutions and establish the government has been successful and the Iraqi Administration and Parliament are fulfilling their duties seriously.
