Tehran, June 12 - Saudi Arabia's Foreign Minister met Monday with the Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei to submit to him the message of King Abdullah.
Saud Al-Faisal conveyed greetings of the Saudi King to the IR Leader and thanked him on behalf of the King for his message months ago which was submitted to King Abdullah by Dr. Ali-Akbar Velayati.
"King Abdullah calls for further expansion of Tehran-Riyadh relations more than ever in different fields," the Saudi Foreign Minister said.
The IR Leader for his part thanked Saudi King for his message, adding that the widened cooperation and relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia will produce short term and long term benefits for the two countries and at the same time is highly productive for the world of Islam.
His Eminence Ayatollah Khamenei asserted that Iran and Saudi Arabia must take steps toward a strategic cooperation to resolve various problems of the world of Islam and unite Muslims.
The IR Leader warned that Muslims' discord and weakness are in the interests of the hegemonic powers and the enemies of the world of Islam, adding that unity, solidarity and cooperation are the sole key to solve the present problems in the world of Islam and to stand against enemies.
"The Islamic Republic of Iran has firmly believed in the idea," Ayatollah Khamenei asserted.
The Honorable Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the abundant capacities of the two countries to cooperate in different fields and called for further activity of the joint committees and the finalization of previous agreements.
The IR Leader also pointed to regional issues as another ground of cooperation between Iran and Saudi Arabia, adding that the two countries could enjoy an excellent cooperation on Iraq and head off enemies' attempts to incite Sunni-Shiite discords.
Ayatollah Khamenei referred to the Lebanese and Syrian issues as the other ground of cooperation between the two countries in light of the Zionists' conspiracies. The Leader recalled pressures imposed on the Palestinian people and government, adding that the Islamic countries should help the Hamas Government because it can become the source of great services to the future of Palestine.
