IR Leader receives Sudanese President

Tehran, April 25 - Islamic Revolution Leader called Sudan the largest Islamic country which enjoys ample natural and human resources.

His Eminence Ayatollah Sayed Ali Khamenei made the remarks during a meeting Tuesday with Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir and his accompanying delegation.

Ayatollah Khamenei touched on the ongoing problems west of Sudan and expressed hope that they will be resolved as in case of southern Sudan problem.

"Sudanese government has come under foreign powers' pressure because of adopting an independent position and policy," The IRI Leader said.

Ayatollah Khamenei underlined that the volume of possibilities and potentialities in the world of Islam go far beyond Muslims problems, adding that if Muslims and Islamic governments utilize their massive material and human possibilities and stand up to arrogant powers, those powers will find no opportunity to bully and exert pressures over Muslims.

Islamic Revolution Leader considered unity and avoiding disagreements as key to failure of arrogant powers plotting.

"World arrogance, America in particular, has grown feeble and feeble in the past years," IR Leader said, adding that Divine practice entails that those powers which turn insolent and hubristic begin to fall.

Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to America's ongoing status in Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan as proof of its further falling, adding that all elites and even ordinary people of the world of Islam are aware of America's weakness and falling.

"The more Muslims stand by Islam and their independence and interests and expand mutual cooperation, the more arrogant powers step down," Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized.

Ayatollah Khamenei then described the Palestinian issue as the most significant issue of the world of Islam and the key to resolving Muslims problems. He urged further consideration of the question.

Ayatollah Khamenei also recalled scientific capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran and described Iranian scientists' nuclear capability as one instance of many scientific drives in the country.

"Islamic Republic of Iran is ready to transfer the experiences, knowledge and technology scored by its scientists," IR Leader said.

During the meeting, also attended by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Omar al-Bashir expressed pleasure with expanding bilateral ties between the two countries. He considered IRI's successful drive to achieve peaceful nuclear technology as a great victory for the world of Islam, adding that Iran's capability and advance means effectively the promotion of world of Islam.

Bashir then elaborated on the latest situation in Sudan especially following the signing of Southern Sudan peace pact, and also the ongoing situation in Darfur and the deceitful propaganda of Western media about the affair.

"The ongoing pressures on Sudanese government stem from its Islamic disposition as well as Sudan's rich oil resources," Bashir said, ensuring that Sudanese people are able to secure their rights and that they will never give in to pressures.

He also underscored that Tehran and Khartoum are of the same opinion in a range of issues from the Iraqi issue, to Palestine, Lebanon and Syria.He urged cooperation on those affairs and called for further economic ties.
