Tehran, Dec 3 - Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in a meeting with members of the Supreme Council for Cultural Revolution stressed on the importance of public culture and said building the culture of the country is the main task of the council.
In this condition where the people has shown their commitment to Islam, the values of the revolution and Imam Khomeini (RA) aspirations by maintaining high-profile in the elections, proper grounds has been prepared for amending cultural directions on the basis of the 20-year-term perspectives which is bound to dynamism, multiple innovation and cheerfulness in the council and its subsidiaries.
The Leader referred to the depth of religious belief of the people in the principles of the Islamic Revolution and added: "Despite the ideological firmness, proper programming should be done to correct some wrong and incoherent cultural defects.
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed on following up the implementation of the approved acts as one of the key functions of the Council and noted that, besides mapping out cultural and executive guidelines, the council should ensure the implementation of the acts and that is the main reason behind the presence of the three branches of power, ministerial and head of organizations.
The Supreme Leader also hinted at long-term programming and foresightedness as another function of the council and called for more activation of the subsidiary councils and said full-time savants should be applied by the councils.
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed on the continuous contact between the council and the elites of seminaries and universities, while calling for providing proper information on the decisions taken and said: Further attention to producing science and theorization is an important issue that should be heeded by the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution which would pave the way for science production and scientific momentum in the country.
The Supreme Leader stipulated that the Islamic Republic, enjoying high potentials, talented and resolute youngsters can be turned into the father of science among Islamic nations.
Ayatollah Khamenei stressed that the Islamic Iran and Muslim Umah can firmly pose their righteous words when they gain high scientific status.
The Supreme Leader referred to reforming educational system and amending the existing old system and called for focusing on basic and humanities sciences in scientific canters. He also stressed on programming for producing new cultural products such as suitable computer game software, and giving more attention to the elites to be recognized and reorganized for maximum usage while supplying their needs as the tasks of the council.
Before the Supreme leader's speech, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and the head of Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution referred to culture and science as the bases of enactment of the 20-year old perspectives and improvement in the country and said: Touching upon high potentials of the council, and membership of a large group of the educated in the council, the council aims at amending educational systems at all levels.
During the meeting, Keynejad, the secretary for the Supreme Council of Cultural revolution also briefed the measures taken by the council and its subsidiary councils over the past year.
