In a meeting this morning with thousands of students and university students, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution explained the fundamental reasons behind the at least 70-year struggle of the Iranian nation with the oppression and excessive demands of the United States. He said, "The Iranian nation's Islamic, national, rational, wise, and humane confrontation with American arrogance is in accordance with international laws. It will continue with a correct plan implemented without negligence or delay. In this victorious path, the Zionist regime and the United States will undoubtedly receive a decisive response to any anti-Iranian actions they may take."
At the beginning of his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei referred to a suggestion from one of the students about confronting arrogance and stated, "Everyone should know that in this struggle, all necessary military, armament, and political measures for the preparedness of the Iranian nation will be taken, and officials are currently engaged in such efforts."
He added, "The overall movement of the nation and officials in confronting global arrogance and the criminal apparatus governing the current world order is a logical movement that aligns with religion, Sharia, ethics, and international laws. In this regard, the nation and officials will not show any delay or negligence."
The Leader of the Revolution described the Iranian nation's struggle against arrogance as a permanent and continuous matter embedded in the life of the country. He said, "Designating a day as The National Day of Struggle Against Global Arrogance is essentially to ensure that this historic struggle is not forgotten, especially since there are efforts underway to create first doubt in the courageous and conscious movement of the nation to stand up and fight against America and its agents in the region, and then have them turn against it."
He spoke about how some people make efforts to cast doubt on the legitimacy of the seizure of the U.S. embassy, saying, "Some people say that the U.S. embassy, like the embassies of other countries, was a place for diplomatic activities and information gathering, so why was it seized?"
Ayatollah Khamenei refuted this doubt, saying, "The U.S. embassy in Tehran, as confirmed by the documents obtained from it, was a planning headquarters for instigating and organising counter-revolutionaries and remnants of the Shah's SAVAK; creating discord, provoking ethnic strife, plotting coups, threatening the life of Imam Khomeini (ra), and looking to destroy the Revolution. This reality does not change, even if some of those involved in that incident have had second thoughts."
The Leader of the Revolution said that the documents discovered in the U.S. embassy were very significant and informative, adding, "Young people should read the books on the embassy documents and other records to become more aware of the reality that the U.S. embassy was turned into a centre for network-building and conspiracies against the Revolution."
He said that the takeover of the U.S. embassy was a turning point and an unforgettable historic event due to the revelation of its true nature, saying, "This was why Imam [Khomeini], with his profound insight, approved the action of the students."
In response to a fundamental question about the reason behind the struggle of the Iranian nation against global arrogance, Ayatollah Khamenei said, "Without a doubt, this confrontation stems from the oppressive and brazen domination of the American government upon our beloved people and Iran."
Referring to biased historians who claim that the seizure of the U.S. embassy was the starting point of the confrontation between the Iranian nation and the U.S., Ayatollah Khamenei said, "This is a lie. This confrontation dates back to at least August 19, 1953, when the Americans betrayed the naive trust of Mosaddeq's government and overthrew that national and popular government by a bloody coup, reinstating the oppressive rule of the Shah."
The Leader of the Revolution advised the youth to study the events related to the National Movement and the August 19, 1953 coup and encouraged researchers to produce works on this topic. He said, "These are pivotal points in the history of the Iranian nation and must be properly explained."
He mentioned the creation of SAVAK and how they trained its interrogators in the use of horrific torture methods, the presence of tens of thousands of freeloading American advisers interfering in military and governmental affairs, and all the other anti-Iranian measures the Americans used, including infiltration and espionage. He said, "All these actions were carried out to humiliate the nation and establish dominance over Iran."
The Leader of the Revolution highlighted the assistance the corrupt Pahlavi regime gave to the Zionist regime, adding, "Guided by the U.S., the Pahlavi regime supplied oil and gave other forms of support, strengthening the usurping regime in an unforgettable act of betrayal. This, while most governments in the region had cut ties with the Zionist regime."
He said, "Unfortunately, even today, some governments, in their indifference to the horrific crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza and Lebanon, provide economic and even military support to this bloodthirsty enemy."
