Ayatollah Imam Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, sent a message expressing his gratitude to the tremendous Iraqi nation for their hospitality in hosting the pilgrims for Arbaeen. Dr Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, presented the Arabic text of this message to the Iraqi Prime Minister this morning, September 21, 2024, during his visit to Iraq.
The Arabic text of the message from the Leader of the Islamic Revolution is as follows:
بسم الله الرّحمن الرّحیم
بدایةً، لابدّ من کلمة شکرٍ أتوجّه إلیکم بها من أعماق قلبی، وبالنیابة عن الشعب الإیرانیّ العظیم، إلیکم أنتم، أصحابَ المواکب، یا مَن تجلّت بکم فی أیّام الأربعین أسمی درجات الکرامة والرحمة والمودّة، وإلی شعب العراق العظیم بأسره، وإلی المسؤولین فی الحکومة العراقیّة. الذین وفّروا الأمن والبیئة والظروف المناسبة للزیارة، وأخصّ بالثناء العلماءَ الأجلاء والمراجعَ العظام فی العراق، الذین هیّأوا الأجواءَ المناسبة لهذه الزیارة، وأشاعوا مشاعرَ الأخوّة بین الناس، وبین الشعبین، وهو ما یستحق الشکر حقًّا.
إنّ ما تفعلونه - أیّها الأخوة العراقیّون الأعزاء - فی مواکبکم المنتشرة علی الطریق، ومعاملتکم الکریمة لزوار الحسین (ع)، لا نظیر لها فی عالمنا الیوم، کما أنّ زیارة الأربعین بحدّ ذاتها لامثیل لها فی التاریخ. کذلک، فإنّ توفیر أمن عشرات الملایین من الناس وسلامتهم، یُعدّ مهمّة عظیمة وفریدة من نوعها فی عالم الیوم غیر الآمن.
لقد جسّدتم بسلوککم وفعالکم الکرمَ الإسلامیّ وحُسنَ الضیافة العربیّة، کلّ ذلک فی محبّة سیّد الشهداء (سلام الله علیه). إنّ محبّة الحسین بن علیّ (ع) هذه، فریدة من نوعها، ولا شبیه لها علی امتداد الزمان والمکان. نرجو الله المتعالی أن یعمر قلوبکم وقلوبنا بهذه المحبّة أکثر فأکثر. إن دائرة الانجذاب نحو هذه المحبّة آخذة بالاتساع، بحمدالله، بدءّا من المواجهة الملحمیّة فی غزّة، وصولاً إلی کثیر من المجتمعات غیر المسلمة.

The translation of the Leader's message is as follows:
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Most Merciful
The first word is thanks. From the bottom of my heart, on behalf of myself and the great nation of Iran, I thank you all: this includes all those who hosted the pilgrims at the pilgrim stations, providing their services with the utmost dignity, mercy, and affection during Arbaeen; all the great people of Iraq; all the officials in the Iraqi government who ensured security and made the space and conditions possible; and especially the esteemed scholars and Marajea of Iraq who have created an atmosphere of pilgrimage and brotherhood among the people and between our two nations. Indeed, this is worthy of thanks.
My dear Iraqi brothers, your conduct at the roadside pilgrim stations and your generous treatment of Imam Hussein's pilgrims have no parallel in today's world, just as the Arbaeen pilgrimage itself is unparalleled in history. In addition, it safeguards the security and well-being of tens of millions of people in today's insecure world, which is a great unmatched achievement.
You have demonstrated Islamic and Arab dignity in your behaviour and actions, all out of love for Sayyid al-Shuhada (peace be upon him). This love for Hussein ibn Ali is exceptional; we have never seen anything like it anywhere or anytime. We hope that Almighty God will increase this love in your hearts and ours day by day.
Today, the domain of this love has expanded to encompass not only the heart-stirring arena of Gaza but also many non-Muslim communities, and all praise belongs to God.
