The Leader Emphasized Key Points in Meeting with Tajikistan's President and Team:

NEED FOR MORE COOPERATION TO PRESERVE AND GROW THE PERSIAN LANGUAGE

This morning (Tuesday), Ayatollah Khamenei met with President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan and his accompanying delegation. The Leader of the Islamic Revolution said that the Islamic Republic of Iran's primary policy and priority was to expand relations with regional countries, especially those with a shared language, culture, history, and religion. He emphasised that the Islamic Republic of Iran was always ready for sincere cooperation with Tajikistan in various fields.

The Leader expressed his appreciation for the visit of the President of Tajikistan to Tehran to attend the Presidential inauguration ceremony. He said that the visits of officials from both countries pave the way for expanding cooperation. He said, "The Persian language is an important commonality between Iran, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan, and more efforts should be made to preserve and expand this language and prevent attempts to isolate it."

Ayatollah Khamenei thanked the President of Tajikistan for his efforts in promoting the Persian language and expressed the hope that the ancient Persian script would also be revived in Tajikistan.

The Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution concluded by saying, "There are those who are against the expansion of relations between Iran and Tajikistan, and there should be plans to counteract them."

The meeting, which was also attended by Vice President Mr. Aref, President Emomali Rahmon expressed great pleasure at meeting the Supreme Leader again. He referred to his discussions with Mr Pezeshkian and said, "As you mentioned a few years ago, the two countries are like relatives. We seek to further expand of our relations and benefit from the experiences of the Islamic Republic and its advancements in the fields of science, health, and industry."

In the meeting, the President of Tajikistan also mentioned some of his efforts to promote the Persian language in his country.
