On Sunday afternoon, Ayatollah Imam Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, met with a group of senior armed forces commanders. He expressed his sincere appreciation for their efforts and successes in recent developments. He said, "Thanks to the Almighty, the armed forces gave a good demonstration of their capabilities and power and increased the prestige of the Iranian nation. It heralded the emergence of the power and influence of the Iranian nation on the international stage."

The day was Army Day, the anniversary marking the establishment of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). Ayatollah Imam Khamenei, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, expressed his felicitations to the members present. He said that the recent achievements of the armed forces have engendered a feeling of admiration and prominence of Islamic Iran in the eyes of the world and those who study international affairs. He said, "The issue about the amount of missiles launched or how many hit their targets that the opposing side has been obsessing about is secondary. The main issue is that it conclusively demonstrated the power and will of the Iranian nation and the armed forces on the international stage, causing the opposing side great distress."

Appreciating the prudence that the armed forces had shown in their actions, the Leader said, "There are many things that have costs and achievements associated with them. What matters in this case is reducing costs and increasing achievements with prudence. This is exactly what the armed forces have done admirably in recent incidents."

While appreciating the efforts and activities of the IRGC, the Army, and the Law Enforcement Force, Ayatollah Imam Khamenei recommended that the armed forces continue their efforts and initiative in their confrontation with their adversaries and rely on innovation and resourcefulness. He said, "We should not stop, not even for a moment. Because stopping means falling behind. Therefore, innovation in armaments and tactics and knowing the enemy's tactics should always be on the agenda." He said that the dignity of the Iranian nation must shine forth in the eyes of the world. He added, "Recognize talent and capable, creative forces in people, have a good opinion of Almighty God, rely on Him, and know that God's promise in defending the faithful is definite and unbreakable."

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution also expressed his deep gratitude to the families of the commanders and various ranks in the army, the Revolutionary Guards, and the police. He said, "The main burdens of the Armed Forces are borne by the spouses and children who endure the hardship.

In the meeting, Major General Baqeri, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, provided a brief report on the latest readiness and capabilities of the Armed Forces, referring to the significant developments in 2023, as well as the early weeks of 2024, including the operation "al-Quds Flood" and operation "Vowed Promise" in punishing the Zionist regime.
