Ayatollah Imam Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, delivered a message on the occasion of the martyrdom of General Rasheed Islam, the brave Islamic commander, Brigadier General of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Mohammad Reza Zahedi, General Rasheed Islam and a number of his comrades at the hands of the usurping and hated Zionist regime. He said, "We will make them regret this crime and anything like it, with the power and help of God."
The text of the message of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution is as follows:
Brigadier General Muhammad Reza Zahedi, a devoted Islamic leader, as well as his comrade at arms, Major General Muhammad Hadi Haj Rahimi, were martyred as a result of the heinous crimes of the rapacious and detested Zionist regime. May God's peace and blessings be upon them and other martyrs from this incident, and may there be curses and condemnation upon the leaders of this oppressive and bellicose regime.
Our martyrs, through their Lord's very Compassion, show that they have received recognition for their long-lasting struggle and now reside among the righteous and peaceful, enjoying divine blessings.
Since the 1960s, Brigadier General Zahedi has faced many dangerous combat situations and was in expectation of martyrdom. They did not lose anything and have now received their reward. However, the grief of their loss weighs heavily upon the Iranian nation, especially upon those who knew them.
Our brave men will punish this wicked regime. We will make them regret this crime and anything like it with the help and power of Almighty God.
