The head of Hamas' political bureau, Mr Ismail Haniyeh and a delegation met with Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.

During the meeting, Mr Haniyeh gave a report on the latest developments in Gaza and the crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza, as well as developments in the West Bank.

The Leader of the Islamic Revolution reiterated his appreciation of the endurance and steadfastness of the people of Gaza and expressed great regret for the crimes committed by the Zionist regime with direct support from the US and some Western countries. He emphasised that supporting the Palestinian resistance forces against the Zionist occupiers is the permanent policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Ayatollah Khamenei also emphasised that it was necessary for Islamic countries, governments and international organisations to make serious efforts to provide comprehensive and practical support for the people of Gaza.
