Q.| Do braids incorporating rings and beads obstruct the correct performance of the ablutions of wuḍū and ghusl?
A.| The ablution of ghusl requires, as a matter of mandatory caution (iḥtīyāṭ wājib), that one wash every strand of hair if one’s hair is long, and for the ablution of wuḍū one must, if one’s hair is long, part the hair of the upper part of the head and rub the scalp or the base of the hair with one’s wet hand.
