A.| The city in which one intends to reside for a year does not count as one’s second hometown (waṭan), but if one’s residence there is such that one is not seen as a traveler but as a resident, one need not intend to remain there for ten days in order for one’s fasting to be valid and the four-segment canonic prayers be restored to full length.
