The remarks made by Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei during a meeting with those in charge of the conference to discuss the philosophical thoughts of late renowned scholar Allameh Mohammad-Taqi Ja'fari held in Tehran on November 13, 2017, were released at the site of this conference at the grand prayer grounds in Tabriz.
In the meeting, Ayatollah Khamenei pointed to the high academic and promotional rank of Allameh Ja’fari, saying, “One of the most prominent features of late Allameh Ja’fari was ‘polymathy’- i.e. he did not restrict himself to one particular area and was very outstanding and diligent in fiqh (Islamic jurisprudence), philosophy, promotion [of religion] and art and no part of his vast ideological and academic expanse distracted him from another.”
He described Allameh Ja’fari as an art virtuoso and cognoscenti and regarding the other feature of the departed soul, namely “feeling responsible to promote Islamic teachings,” he said, “Intellectual and academic excellence never hindered Allameh Ja’fari’s promotional activities and his ties with the youth, university students, religious scholars, professors and the general public.”
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution described “religious fervour and vigilance against ideological deviations” as another characteristic of Allameh Ja’fari and added, “Allameh Ja’fari was very zealous about and committed to religious issues and openly confronted ideological deviations and stood up to enmities.”
Ayatollah Khamenei expressed pleasure with the holding of the conference to commemorate Allameh Ja’fari and the efforts to introduce his intellectual features, saying, “We hope that this commemoration would shed light upon the obscure character and thoughts of Allameh Ja’fari.”
