Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei in a meeting with officials and commanders of the Iranian police force on Tuesday on the occasion of the Police Day, described “security” as a main pillar of the country’s growth and progress. Emphasizing the important role played by the police force in establishing security, the Leader said, capabilities and preparedness of the police force as well as the resolve and religious faith of its personnel must be increased on a daily basis.
Defining security as “personal psychological tranquility and general clam in the society,” Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei added, “in the absence of security, even despite the presence of [enough] capability and motivation among people in a society, the [necessary] grounds for conducting diverse economic, cultural, political and service activities will be eliminated.”
The Leader of the Islamic Revolution then cited a verse from the Holy Quran and while describing security as a source of increasing faith for the faithful, noted, “The police force is one of the most important pillars of the country’s security. Of course, this huge pillar of security is made up of manpower most of whom are efficient, honorable and perseverant, and the resolve, faith, motivation and morale of these forces must be bolstered incessantly.”
Referring to vast services provided by the police force across the country, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution underlined the important role played by police stations due to their direct encounter with people in the society.
Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, who is also Commander in Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces, then referred to rapid changes in various sector, including advances in science and technology, reminding his audience of the need to “boost their preparedness and update their abilities,” “fully recognize and fulfill their duties,” and “explain their activities and services to people through media in an accurate manner,” as the main requisites for establishment and promotion of security in the country.
Before this meeting, the noon and afternoon prayers were said with the Leader of the Islamic Revolution as the prayers leader.
