Lone Palestine in need of a firm measure

Islamic Revolution Leader Ayatollah Sayyed Ali Khamenei described on Saturday solidarity of the Islamic countries as one of the main goals of the Islamic Republic of Iran in its international efforts.

In a meeting with the visiting Senegalese President, Abdoulaye Wade, the IR Leader expressed pleasure over expansion of trade, industrial and economic relations between the two countries and said IRI is ready to share its experiences with Muslim states.

Referring to the presidency of Senegal over the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) Ayatollah Khamenei said, "The main goal of establishing such an organization was to follow up the Palestinian issue and therefore the OIC bears a heavy responsibility and enjoys high capacity for playing a role in this regard."

"Today, the oppressed and lone Palestine is in need of a firm, appropriate and effective measure by the Islamic world," he added.

The IR Leader said the OIC was expected to create hope in the heart of oppressed Palestinians through giving support to them especially noting that it is a demand of Muslim nations.

The Senegalese President, for his part, expressed pleasure over his visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran and described level of the two countries' cooperation as high.

"IRI enjoys an important status in the Islamic world," he said, adding Iran's experiences would be useful and valuable for OIC and the whole Muslim world.

The Senegalese President appreciated IRI for holding a magnificent presidential elections.
